Final Post

I just uploaded the final report and we have officially come to the end of the course. I feel pleased that I closed another chapter in my life successfully, for I have the strong conviction that I have learned a lot from this subject- things that I will cherish always and try to put them in practice. I am glad I took this course and I had a great experience with innovative strategies and techniques of teaching English through Multimedia elements. I hope I will manage to be the teacher and the professional I want for myself. I also wish that all my classmates succeed in the goals they have set for themselves and their future. Hope we all have a bright future ahead of us. Good luck to us all!!!

Finally taken😂

Hi class. After many many fails, we are finally on the right track to complete the assignment. I chose Elisabeta as my new partner and we will be correcting each- other's assignment. To be honest, I felt a bit frustrated when the teacher explained us the procedure, because I had already done the assignment ( at least I thought so) and I had uploaded it. However I had not used track changes to correct the report, so I deleted it and now I will do it once more. I think it is the first time we have struggled so much with an assignment - it is almost hilarious how we all got it wrong... Nevertheless, now that I know exactly what to do, I hope I will correct Elisabeta's report as soon as I learn how to use track changes. I am going to follow our teacher's instructions. Hope for the best. See u in class guys!

Peer review

Hey bloggers! How was your week so far? To me, I have to admit a bit confusing because it turned out I had misunderstood this week's assignment😬😞... Unfortunately, we all have. The peer review thing is not about the performance of our partner or any other classmate during the presentation. Instead, it is about assembling and putting together all of the pieces of the final essay and sharing it with a classmate so that we can proofread each- other's essays and give our suggestions. I asked our professor yesterday and this was her answer. I know that you all feel frustrated since we had prepared another thing and now we have to do it all over again... Luckily, our professor has given us a week until the final deadline to hand over this assignment, so everyone, let's get down to work and correct our misunderstanding. Good luck! 😊

A warm and humble appreciation to all my friends

Hello all! Hope you read this post because it is the most important and meaningful one I have posted so far. As you already know, last Wednesday was my big day, the day of my presentation. I always experience the waiting part with a lot of anxiety and no exception was made this time. Mikela and I had the presentation after Eliada and Bresjana and so my anxiety grew stronger and stronger. However, the moment we started our project, I forgot about those feelings and I felt comfortable with my new position. It was all thanks to you guys because you were very supportive and patient and participating. You were all engaged in the process and that increased a lot my self- confidence and I was able to make it through. I also want to thank you for your positive feedback and valuable suggestions and I want you to know I appreciate them all. This course and our class has taught me some useful lessons about collaboration, support and group work. You are all amazing. The best class I could ever asked for. Thanks so much.😘😘😘

Towards the end of the final project

My final presentation is this Wednesday and I am working on the final details of it. As you already know( and as I have mentioned a thousand times), our topic is about idiomatic expressions. We plan to include a fun video with plenty of illustrations and also two interesting exercises. Mikela and I have really put a lot of effort into it because we want to do a good job and more importantly, to fulfill our class objectives. Anyway, I am not revealing anything since I want it to be a surprise for you all.Hope for the best! See you in class...

How does multimedia influence teaching

How was the weekend? Had any chance to sit back and enjoy yourselves? Here it is another week that we have been assigned a new task for the blog. Since we are asked to incorporate technology in our final presentation, we had to think through why is technology important. Nothing can be used without a purpose or a good reason behind it! Since my topic is "Teaching Phraseological Units" to intermediate pupils, multimedia plays a crucial role. That is because idioms can only be taught through repetition, repetition and more repetition since there is no logic to it nor a stated rule. Technology comes at hand at this points so as not to make the class boring, but instead very attractive and entertaining. I must say I am very excited about the presentation which is due next week. I believe it will definitely be a valuable experience! Enjoy the rest of the week guys.

Teaching Phraseological Units

The assignment for this week was to define the specific skill we are going to teach for our final presentation. I have chosen vocabulary and more specifically phraseological units or as they are otherwise called, idioms. Mikela is my partner in this presentation and we intent to put lots of funny pics and stuff in our video and presentation in general in order to make the class relaxed and more attentive.  Multimedia is going to help a lot to make this project attractive and entertaining for our class.

Working on the final project

How've you been? Well, this week's experience was far from being anything new to us. It was not about discovering a new app or an innovative way to experiment with multimedia. Instead, it was something of which we are so accustomed to deal with- I am referring to the first efforts we have made to our final presentation. This assignment got me into thinking a lot and trying to picture how my final project will look like. Now that I have established some important features such as the goals and the target group, I feel myself more positive and confident that I am going to pass this through. WebQuest

Hey everyone,
Hope you enjoyed the weekend and the day off. I guess we all had some spare time to check out the blog and complete the assignment of this week which I have to say, was a real challenge for me. Had it not been for our incredible classmates who are always willing to give us a hand, I'd probably still be struggling with that. Nevertheless, the experience with the webQuest was very helpful for creating our project because now I have a clearer picture of what WebQuest is and how I can put it to work.

Project Based Learning

Hi Class,

This week was quite amusing and fun because we had a new addition to explore and I am referring to the Padlet. It is always good and useful to get to know new and interesting things, and another thing we became familiar with was Project-based learning which is a comprehensive approach to classroom teaching and learning that is designed to engage students in investigation of authentic problems. These projects have the potential to help people learn; indicate factors in project design that affect motivation and thought; examine difficulties that students and teachers may encounter with projects; and describe how technology can support students and teachers as they work on projects, so that motivation and thought are sustained. Taking all of these components into consideration, I am confident I will be using Project Based Learning in my teaching classes. 

ABCD Model

Hey guys!
This week we had to learn about ABCD Objectives. Although we already knew something about these objectives and Bloom's Taxonomy, it was quite useful to learn about them in English too. To me, it was not that difficult to revise the information online and to create some objectives of my own. Nevertheless, I did find it hard to create some exercises. I spent quite some time working on that, but in the end I must say that I feel very proud of my accomplishments. I finally did it. One more to go!

Kagan Structures

I just had a chance to check out the Kagan structures and my very first impression is I don't see myself applying this kind of learning. The creators of the Kagan structures and the people interviewed appraised this method a lot and it definitely had its advantages. Nevertheless, I don't quite agree with all of the noise created and I do not believe it is a class easy to deal with because it gets messy and confusing. Despite this, I am the type of person who believes that there are no clear cut rules when it comes to teaching. For me, I would definitely use some of the strategies suggested in the Kagan structures such as group work, jigsaw and other interactive activities, but I would also add my own touch to it just to personalize it even further and adjust it to suit my own teaching philosophy!

Hello class! I feel very positive about incorporating technology in our teaching . After some fails :) or should I say after many fails, I am finally getting to understand how the blog works and how to use it for teaching purposes. This week, our professor delivered a lecture about integrating technology in teaching. Overall, it was quite an interesting lecture, but there is one specific aspect of it that I would like to share with you. In the very end, the professor posed three questions:  will technology take over, will learners take over or will teachers take over the learning process? We should always aim for a balance if we want to be successful  teachers.
